EAF Radio Station Tour of 100.3 The Beat

Education Advantage Foundation organized a tour of 100.3 FM The Beat Radio Station, complete with a donation of Hummer limo transportation! A group of children from the Resource Room registered for the tour, which lasted an hour and a half, and included participation in a live on-air broadcast. The on-air DJ’s, as well as other members of the staff including accounting, programming, promotions and marketing, explained how education is important in their job, and how education played an important part in helping them launch their radio careers. They also signed autographs for everyone and answered the kidsí questions.

This was without a doubt an experience that they will never forget, and one that they might not normally have the chance to do. Thank you to our sponsors, The Beat radio station staff and chaperones for making this opportunity possible.
After the tour, Education Advantage Foundation and Leaning Links Centers sponsored a free hot dog roast party for the residents of both Santa Rosalia buildings in the courtyard.

EAF and LLC plan to schedule more events like this in an effort to promote the importance of education and to give the kids access to positive, successful role models and the career paths they are interested in.
